The GE Summer Science Academy is a week-long residential STEM-focused academic summer camp. Exciting, advanced classes are taught by OSSM’s renowned faculty with special activities and presentations by GE engineers. Some 50 talented, motivated high school students with a passion for math and science from rural districts or low-income households in Oklahoma participate, students entering the 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the upcoming school year. Students must be nominated by a teacher or counselor from the home school.
Classes take place on the OSSM’s downtown Oklahoma City campus where students reside for the week. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided in addition to a range of activities, on campus and off.
This program is free of charge to eligible students. It is made possible by the STEM Empowers OK grant from the GE Foundation in partnership with the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science (OCAST).
