OSSM alumnus on front lines of researching COVID-19 vaccine

Dr. Rhiju Das

“The coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has upended life as we know it in a matter of mere months. But at the same time, an unprecedented global effort to understand and contain the virus—and find a treatment for the disease it causes—is underway.”

Rhiju Das, Ph.D. is a physicist/biochemist leading the Das Lab at Stanford. He is bringing a fresh approach to the scientific rigor of his team’s work to find an answer to the current pandemic. Referring to his time at OSSM (Class of 1995 from Bartlesville HS), he says, “Its really the most rigorous scientific program that I’m aware of at the high school level. I knew what DNA, RNA and viruses were when I was a junior in high school. That was pretty eye opening,” said Das.
